Why a design sprint?
A design sprint is a method used for solving problems through ideation, prototyping, and testing ideas with specifically targeted users. It was developed by Google Ventures, to align teams under a shared vision with clearly defined goals and deliverables. Each day at the retreat will be facilitated by a sprint coach.

Day 1 -
Understand
At the start of the sprint, we'll set a long term goal. This will serve as a beacon of light to keep everyone moving in the same direction. We'll use the following techniques:
-
User Stories
-
Empathy Mapping & Customer Journeys
-
Problem Statements

Day 2 -
Diverge
On day 2, we'll diverge and come up with a range of ideas as a team, considering all the research done on day 1. We'll use the following techniques:
-
Crazy 8's sketches & voting
-
Solution sketches
-
Ideation workshops & brainstorming

Day 3 -
Decide
After developing numerous ideas and sketches the team will decide on which to develop further. We will use the following techniques to do this:
-
Dot voting
-
Speed critiquing
-
Storyboarding

Day 4 -
Prototype
Once the team has a solid idea that everyone is aligned on, we will begin a rapid prototyping phase. Each participant will be given a role to help create a high res prototype that can begin to be shared with users and stakeholders.

Day 5 -
Test
To be sure the team has developed the best idea, we will begin conducting online user tests to gain critical feedback that can be implemented on once the retreat is over.
